Dear friends of Edwina Froehlich and of the Froehlich family,
Edwina Froehlich passed away on June 8th, 2008, due to complications of a stroke suffered on May 25th. Consistent with her life-long characteristic of giving, she has donated her body to science. Her family, Paul, Dave and Pete, along with her daughters in-law, Marilyn, Sharon, and Paula respectively, wish to celebrate her 93 years of life, and honor her memory. Edwina's choice was to not have a wake or a funeral, but, with the loving support of La Leche League International, a Memorial Celebration has been scheduled as follows:
Day: Saturday
Date: July 12th, 2008
Time: 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm
Place: Elk Grove High School
500 W. Elk Grove Blvd.
Elk Grove Village, IL 60007
The high school is just east of Arlington Heights Road, south of Landmeier, and north of Biesterfield, in Elk Grove Village. The celebration will be an open house format, and guests are free to come and go anytime, however, there will be a program of prominent speakers who will memorialize Edwina's life in the school's theater from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
Refreshments will be available, and a videographer will be present to record specific memories guests may have of Edwina, for her family. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the:

An invitation from the family
The Froehlich family is planning a celebration of the life of their mother and LLL Founder Edwina Froehlich. This celebration will probably be held the afternoon of Saturday, July 12 in the Chicago, Illinois, USA suburbs. The family has no idea how many friends from the LLLI community would plan to attend such an event and we have offered to help by trying to get an idea for them so they can pick an appropriate place.
If you would probably come to Edwina's celebration, please email me directly at tnoack@llli.org as soon as possible. If you are from a Group or Area and can respond for a number of people, that would be fine and easier to count. This does not have to be a definite commitment to attend, the family just does not know whether to plan for 100 or 500 at the celebration.
Many thanks,
Trisha Noack
PR Director LLLI
